“…Community satisfaction (CS) is a comprehensive indicator of the overall contentment of residents with their community (Filkins et al, 2000; Fitz et al, 2016; Hannscott, 2016). It is an important issue for the residents, development practitioners, and policy makers because it is a central component of community development (Potter & Cantarero, 2014; Sirgy & Cornwell, 2001). CS shows the desires of community residents and, hence, it can indicate the direction for community development (Chen et al, 2020; Grzeskowiak et al, 2003).…”

“…Community satisfaction is a holistic and multidimensional indicator reflecting the economic, political, and social environment of residents in communities (Brown, 1995; Filkins et al, 2000; Goudy, 1977; Matarrita‐Cascante, 2010; Rojek et al, 1975). Community satisfaction is subjectively measured by community people according to expectations and needs for their communities (Potter & Cantarero, 2014). Hence, a high community satisfaction level increases community support and community commitment (Grzeskowiak et al, 2003; Kanwal et al, 2020).…”

“…Research on community satisfaction have identified several predictors such as community attachment (Theodori, 2001), public service (Filkins et al, 2000; Rojek et al, 1975), employment conditions (Bradburn, 1969), migration (Schulze et al, 1963), community participation (Fried, 1984; Gamo et al, 2019), neighborhood (Sirgy & Cornwell, 2002), economic‐socio characteristics (Brown, 1995; Campbell et al, 1976; Filkins et al, 2000; Goudy, 1977), and demographic characteristics (Gamo et al, 2019; Rojek et al, 1975) etc. Research on community satisfaction has been extended from the level of satisfaction with the physical and economic environment of local residents to the concept of social, psychological, expectations, and capabilities of local communities, and the measurement of community satisfaction is being synthesized for the community development site as well as general methods (Potter & Cantarero, 2014). At the same time, the calling for capacity building of CDOs, which is pointed out as one of the variables to increase community satisfaction by scholars, is deepening, but empirical studies on the relationship between CDOs and community satisfaction are insufficient (Fredericksen & London, 2000; Glickman & Servon, 2003; Riggin et al, 1992).…”
