Abstract:Background. Isolation of strains from tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) patients proved that the European subtype tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV-Eur) in Siberia is involved in regional human infectious pathology and causes a clinical picture similar to Western TBE.
