Abstract:A series of isostructural early actinide AnIV complexes was synthesized in order to investigate the influence of a conjugated framework in the ligand backbone on An bonding. Therefore, the AnIV complexes [An(pyrophen)2] (An = Th, U, Np, and Pu) with the pure N–donor ligand bis(2‐pyrrolecarbonylaldehyde)‐o‐phenylenediamine referred to as pyrophen, were synthesized and characterized. Solid state analysis via single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (SC‐XRD) reveals two sets of ligands binding in an almost orthogonal arr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
