Abstract:Background Hemiarthroplasty may be indicated for patients with distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) arthritis. Recently, the use of the pyrocarbon metacarpophalangeal implant has been proposed as a novel means of treating DRUJ arthritis due to the materials improved mechanical properties and wear characteristics.
