Abstract: Black leaf streak disease (BLSD) caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensisa an ascomycete fungus is the most important foliar disease ofbananas (Musa sp.). Losses due to this pathogen can exceed 50% in case of no resistant cultivars and effective treatments.
