Comparative evaluation of efficacy of diode laser and two commercially available desensitizing toothpastes for dentinal tubular occlusion

Abstract: Purpose: Dentinal hypersensitivity is a common clinical condition associated with exposed dentinal surfaces. Dentinal tubules can be entirely blocked after irradiation by 980-nm diode laser, with no significant morphological alterations after radiation. The use of toothpastes containing Potassium Nitrate and Calcium Hydroxyapatite reduces dentinal hypersensitivity.
