Comparative Evaluation of Microtensile Bond Strength of Three Adhesive Systems

Abstract: Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the microtensile bond strength of three universal adhesives to dentin and enamel. Materials and Methods: Sixty extracted human third molar teeth were chosen and divided into six groups regarding the adhesive (G-Premio Bond, Clearfil S3 Bond or Single Bond) and tooth surface. All the applied bonding agents were universal adhesives. The teeth were polished and the adhesives were applied; then the teeth were restored with composite resin. The samples were moun… Show more

“…Also, the composition of monomers in universal AS significantly impacts the strength of adhesion to dentin. The average values of the adhesive bond strength of AS containing 10-methacryloyloxyethyl dihydrogen phosphate and 4-methacryloyloxyethyl trimellitate anhydride in laboratory conditions were more than two times higher, namely 17.55+9.47 MPa, relative to the values of AS with traditional monomers -7.88+8.83 MPa [25].…”

“…Також значний вплив на міцність адгезії до дентину відіграє склад мономерів в універсальній АС. Середні значення сили адгезивного зв'язку АС, що містять 10-метакрилоїлоксіетилдигідрофосфат та 4-метакрилоїлоксіетил тримелітату ангідрид у лабораторних умовах були більш ніж в 2 рази вищими, а саме 17,55+9,47 МПа, відносно показників АС з традиційними мономерами -7,88+8,83 МПа [25].…”

“… High penetration and wettability results in favorable infiltration into microporosities and dentinal tubules. [ 18 ] Fukegawa et al . [ 19 ] reported that MDP bonds ionically to HAp and effectively increases the long-term enamel bonding.…”
