Comparative Karyotype Analysis in Five Strains of <i>Colocasia esculenta</i> (L.) Schott (Araceae) in Thailand

Abstract: Cytogenetical studies were carried out on Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott and five different karyotypes were observed, karyotype formula of each karyotype were 2n=28=L 24 m +M 4 sm , 2n=28=L 14 m +L 2 sm +M 6 m +M 6 sm , 2n=28=L 22 m +L 6 sm , 2n=28=L 18 m +M 4 m +M 2 sm +S 2 sm +S 2 sm and 2n=28=L 8 m +L 4 sm +M 4 m +M 10 sm +S 2 m.
