Abstract: The permanent organs of grapevines (V. viniferaL.), like other woody perennials, are colonized by various unrelated pathogenic ascomycete fungi secreting cell wall-degrading enzymes and phytotoxic secondary metabolites that contribute to host damage and disease symptoms.
