“…Research on the feasibility of agricultural business in several countries has been widely carried out. In rice cultivation, they analyzed the costs and profitability of small-scale rice farming in Nigeria (Ohen & Ajah, 2015), conducted an analysis of income from rice cultivation in two different regions in Nigeria (Nwalieji, 2016), calculated the Benefit Cost ratio in rice cultivation in Bangladesh (Sujan et al,201), conducted research on calculating profitability and productivity from rice cultivation for three categories of farmers (small, medium and large farmers) on the coast of Bangladesh (Islam et al, 2017), and made a comparison of rice financing and income with brick production businesses in South Sulawesi (Saediman et al, 2019). While in corn cultivation, some researchers compared the profitability and productivity of corn sales using organic farming systems with conventional systems in Kenya (Adamtey et al, 2016), conducted research on the selection of hybrid corn from several different varieties in Nepal, economically and statistically (Ghimire et al, 2016), analyzed the sale of corn yielded with organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer (Sekumade, 2017), and made a comparison feasibility of corn and tomato business in Nigeria (Ammani, 2015).…”

“…Improving the quality standards of local rice to the level of Asian imports to make it competitive would require large public expenditure in not just equipment but more importantly on training (Wailes et al, 2015). Poor extension services visit to farmers and processors remains a major constraint in the rice sector (Nwalieji, 2016). The second identified constraint is the low capacity of processing equipment which manifests in reduced volumes.…”

“…Financing for parboiling rice processing is non-existent from formal sources and processors had to rely on friends, relatives and VSLA groups meagre loans to support their operations. As reported by Nwalieji (2016) inadequate funds for start-ups and difficulty in obtaining loans hinders the efficient production of quality rice. Linn and Maenhont (2019) noted that financial constraints impacts on infrastructure investment in rice value chains which make it structurally inefficient.…”

“…Literatures have proven that smallholder farmers in Nigeria are still inefficient in their resources utilization [7], [8], [14]- [17], and therefore are not maximizing their resources' potentials. Research works [18], [19] conducted on Ebonyi rice production, failed to look into the efficiency with which the participants of government rice projects utilizes the available/given…”
