Abstract:This work addresses a theoretical analysis on optical planar surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors. The proposed plasmonic system consists of an active left-handed material (LHM) stacked between a glass-prism and a sensing environment. To evaluate the limits of the surface sensitivity related to SPR excitation, two arrangements between previous media are separately investigated for comparison. Employing the transfer matrix method (TMM), angular TM-reflectance calculations and intrinsic sensing characteristic… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
