The tendency towards efficient use of resources in complex buildings, including educational institutions, research and production facilities, mining facilities, innovative technology parks, and even military and defense industry complexes, requires a balanced systematic approach at the design stage and the use of flexible methods for adapting architectural, planning, engineering, and technical solutions during long-term operation.Among the energy efficiency measures, such as reconstruction, renovation, and thermal modernization, we should highlight more knowledge-intensive ones, such as the use of alternative renewable energy sources, energy certification, and continuous monitoring of the energy balance of public and industrial complexes.Efficient use of resources in public and industrial complexes is an important aspect for all types of activities. The cumbersome structure of traditional institutions in today's economic environment cannot withstand the burden of energy issues. Ensuring the course of production, educational, research, social and economic processes puts forward its own requirements not only to the quantity but also to the quality of energy consumed. This leads to the emergence of such a subdivision as the energy hub of an institution. And the nomenclature of buildings and structures of public and industrial complexes includes premises of energy efficiency laboratories, which in most cases can be discretized into separate buildings and serve as basic facilities for maintaining the energy balance of the territory of the complexes. The nomenclature of energy efficiency laboratories is usually supplemented by components of sustainable development in the form of integration with the entire energy structure of the institutions of the complex. There are also laboratories at ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: THEORETICAL BASIS AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES 34 References: 1. Kutsevych, V. (2014).
