Comparison of diagnostic value of multi‑slice spiral CT and MRI for different pathological stages of prostate cancer

Abstract: Diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT) for different pathological stages of prostate cancer was compared. A total of 112 patients with prostate cancer who underwent surgical pathology in The Affiliated Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital of Qingdao University from February 2014 to January 2016 were enrolled as prostate cancer group, and another 100 patients who received physical health examinations during the same period as the normal group. MSCT and MRI scanning were per… Show more

“…The ADC value in MRI is of great clinical significance in determining the risk of tumor. The conclusion was that MRI was more valuable than MSCT in the diagnosis of prostate cancer at different stages [ 24 ]. There were two methods utilized to diagnose peritoneal metastases from primary ovarian cancer, and the results also indicated that MRI was more accurate in the diagnosis of peritoneal metastasis in ovarian cancer patients compared with multi-slice spiral CT [ 25 ].…”

“…It provides a cost-effective modality for patients presenting to the emergency department with acute chest pain [21]. e test is able to make a diagnosis of noncoronary origin, which accounts for approximately the proportion of patients with acute chest pain in the emergency department, and it can avoid additional tests for the diagnosis of cardiac disease in patients who do not experience serious side effects during days of follow-up [22][23][24][25]. Multirow spiral is considered to have the potential to improve the diagnosis of acute chest pain in patients with low to moderate risk factors [26].…”

“…2) External issues This type of incomplete projection data is caused by the inability to collect all projection data passing through a specific part of the detection area. This situation mainly occurs when there is an "opaque" substance in the detected radiation of the test object [18][19]. It can be derived from the Cormack inversion formula and uniquely determines the solution to the external problem.…”
