“…There are plenty of studies that have reported that fine motor skill development is delayed in hearing-impaired children. In their study which compared the fine motor functions of hearing-impaired children aged between 7-13 and their normal-hearing friends, Rashidi et al (2017) found that the total fine motor function scores of hearing-impaired children were significantly lower than normal hearing children. In another study on the children's (between the age range of 6-12) fine motor skill proficiencies, it was revealed that their manual dexterity sub-test scores in which there were the activities involving the manipulation of objects against time with an added component and there was a setting against time (such as putting on as many pegs as possible in 15 seconds) were lower than all the other sub-tests (Gaul & Issartel, 2016).…”
