“…Hypotensive epidural anesthesia (HEA) was one of the anesthetic techniques used to reduce perioperative blood loss and transfusion requirements in hip surgeries. In a clinical study, Eroglu et al [4] reported that in spite the similar mean arterial pressure (50-60 mmHg) levels noted between groups, HEA resulted in less intraoperative blood loss than HTIVA during primary total hip replacement.
