Comparison of Kriging and Inverse Distance Weighted (Idw) Interpolation Methods in Lineament Extraction and Analysis

Abstract: Analysis that is based on geostatistics eliminates many corresponding defects and limitations compared to classical statistics which have been developed by random distribution theory of processes and variables. Interpolation is important for local analysis by GIS, because many maps used for GIS operation are made by interpolation. In this research, two different methods which is Kriging method and Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method was examined for developing Digital Elevation Model image. Each method’s ad… Show more

“…The inverse distance weight method (IDW) [33] in ArcGIS was utilized to spatially interpolate the distribution of the EC GW and groundwater depths across the field to generate corresponding values for the 18 harvest locations. The relationship between yield and ET C , applied irrigation water, or transpiration is known as the crop production function [7].…”

“…List and location of 4th of July 2019 fireworks locations and their starting times, as shown in Figure 6. The July 4th holiday PM 2.5 observations from TRAX are shown in Figure 6, with spatially interpolated PM 2.5 estimates using inverse distance weighting [52] presented in Figure 7. Before the fireworks began (20:00-20:59 MDT, Figure 6a), the PM 2.5 concentrations are low throughout the SLV, with the exception of the reading at RAIL1.…”

“…A benefit of the TRAX platform is that the rail lines are located along the most densely populated areas, while the outer edges of the county are primarily composed of mountains or wetlands and the Great Salt Lake. The July 4 th holiday PM2.5 observations from TRAX are shown in Figure 6, with spatially interpolated PM2.5 estimates using inverse distance weighting [52] presented in Figure 7. Before the fireworks began (20:00-20:59 MDT, Figure 6a.…”

“…Jadi semakin dekat jarak antara titik sampel dan titik yang akan diestimasi maka semakin besar bobotnya, begitu juga sebaliknya. Metode ini telah berhasil dimanfaatkan untuk interpolasi pada data spasial [28,29,30] dan liniasi [31].…”
