Comparison of prophylactic versus preemptive treatments in the management of cytomegalovirus infection in renal transplant recipients

Abstract: To prevent acute or chronic rejection in renal transplant recipients, immunosuppressive treatments are applied. However, immunosuppressive treatments increase the risk of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection.
