Comparison of Seasonal Diameter Growth Patterns between Some Exotic and Indigenous Trees in Northeast Thailand.

Abstract

The diameter growth patterns of three tree species were examined by band type dendrometers from July l, 1991 to July 6, 1992 We studied the seasonal patterns in the diameter growths of two exotic and one indigenous tree species using the band type dendrometers throughout a year. The difference of patterns were discussed between them in Northeast Thailand. STUDY SITE AND METHODSThe research site was established in the campus of Yasothon Agricultural College (15" 32' 55" N, 104" 17' 13" E, 50 m a.s.l), located at Ban Podaeng, Tambon Bakrue, Amphoe Mahachanachai, Changwat Yasothon. During July 1991 -July 1992, the maximum, mean and minimum t€mperatures were 32.5, 27.8 and 23.1"C, respectively. The annual rainfall was 1429 mmlyear. The tree species studied were Eucalyptus camaldulensrs (Eucalyptus; exotic),
