Comparison of Standard k-ε Model and RSM on Three Dimensional Turbulent Flow in the SEN of Slab Continuous Caster Controlled by Slide Gate

Abstract: The fluid flow in the SEN and its outflow characteristic at nozzle port, after installation of slide gate system to control molten steel flow rate, have been investigated by mathematical simulation using standard k-ε model, RSM and experimental measurement by Ultrasonic Doppler Velocimeter (UDV) respectively, and the adaptability of turbulence models has been discussed.
