Comparison of stereopsis thresholds measured with conventional methods and a new eye tracking method

Lu Liu,
Bo Yu,
Lingxian Xu
et al.

Abstract: Purpose Stereopsis is the ability to perceive depth using the slightly different views from two eyes. This study aims to conduct innovative stereopsis tests using the objective data outputted by eye tracking technology. Methods A laptop and an eye tracker were used to establish the test system. Anaglyphic glasses were employed to execute the stereopsis assessment. The test symbol employed was devised to emulate the quantitative measurement component of the Random Dot 3 Stereo Acuity Test. Sub-pixel technolog… Show more

“…Moreover, electronic stereoscopic measurement can be integrated with various advanced devices, such as eye trackers, facial trackers, etc ., to realize accurate, convenient stereopsis tests. Liu et al (2023) combined stereopsis measurement with the eye tracker to create a new test method that achieves the self-service stereotest that can output objective indicators and is highly consistent with the conventional test methods. In this study, our results are in accordance with the experimental results mentioned by Langer & Siciliano (2015) , who set out an experiment that employed a 3D display with blur generated by image processing to investigate the influence of blur cues on depth discrimination from disparity.…”
