In the current digital era, communication technology has gradually changed the social landscape. Society faces pressure to adapt to rapid technological developments, which can affect interaction and communication patterns. This research aims to investigate how society adapts, experiences change, and responds to communication technology in the context of the digital era. The focus is to understand the impact of technology on social dynamics, as well as the strategies used by individuals and communities in dealing with these changes. This research method was carried out through a qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews and participant observation to collect data. The research sample was selected purposively, covering various different levels of society in the context of communication technology. The research results show that society experiences various levels of adaptation to communication technology, from acceptance to resistance. Changes in communication and social interaction patterns were identified, along with the adoption of new technologies and shifts in cultural values. The conclusions of this research illustrate the complexity of social dynamics in the digital era, where adaptation, change and response to communication technology play a key role in shaping patterns of human interaction. A deeper understanding of these processes can help in developing more effective strategies for managing the impact of technology in modern society

This study examined uniting public organization, transparency, and accountability theories for a holistic understanding of digital government service implementation in Indonesia. This study used a survey data collection method with 424 respondents for employees in four local governments. Questionnaires were generated using a Likert scale. Structural equation modeling‐partial least squares was used to assess the validity and reliability of the data and to test hypotheses and regression models. Following the testing of hypotheses and regression analysis, this study found that variables of employee skills, leadership, regulation, infrastructure, information and communication technology, transparency, and accountability had a positive and significant effect on the variable of digital government service implementation with p‐values of 0.034, 0.025, 0.014, 0.031, 0.009, 0.005, and 0.010, respectively. In contrast, variables of budgeting and bureaucratic structure do not positively and significantly impact the variable of digital government service implementation with p‐values of 0.210 and 0.311, respectively. The influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable was strong (R‐square = 0.834). The limitations and implications of these findings are discussed in the conclusion.

This research aims to analyze the development of digital transformation in Society 5.0 in Indonesia to identify challenges and opportunities in its implementation. This research method uses a qualitative exploratory approach with a case study on digital developments in Society 5.0 in Indonesia. The analysis in this study uses interactive techniques and is assisted via Nvivo 12 Plus. The results of this research show that the era of Society 5.0 has forced Indonesia to carry out digital transformation in various public sectors, such as governance and administration, economics, and socio-culture. In line with the demands of the Society 5.0 era, digital transformation in Indonesia seeks to realize super smart Society 5.0 in 2024 to develop capabilities to solve social problems that occur as a result of the emergence of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to 5.0. This is intended to create ideal conditions in various public sectors, such as government, economics, and social culture. However, in line with these efforts, Indonesia faces challenges in digital transformation, such as digital transformation efforts, which to date have not been optimal including in human resources. In various regions in Indonesia, there are still problems with inadequate infrastructure for encouraging digital transformation in Indonesia. The contribution of this research is a reference in the development of the concept of digital transformation and Society 5.0. Apart from that, this research is also an evaluation material for the Indonesian government regarding the digital transformation that has been attempted.
