“…The disappearance of the absorption bands of Al VI OH at 910 and 696 cm −1 are due to dehydroxylation phenomenon, and the intensity decrease of characteristic vibration bond of the Si O at about 536 cm −1 simultaneously with its displacement to a higher frequency (about 549 cm −1 ) are due to the deformation of the tetrahedral and octahedral sheets of the kaolinite network present in KT. These results are in agreement with those obtained by Belmokhtar et al [35]. All these changes happening on the kaolinite network make them more disordered, which is manifested in the X-ray pattern by the disappearance of the kaolinite peaks.…”

“…These two oxides are of fundamental ingredients during the geopolymerization. The report SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 is higher than 1.17 (case of kaolinites), this gap would suggest the presence of silica free (quartz) in the kaolin used [35]. This is in agreement with results obtained by XRD analysis.…”

“…The alkaline activated binding materials, also know as geopolymers or inorganic polymers can be produced by the polycondensation of the SiO 4 and AlO 4 groups present in aluminosilicate raw materials 4,5 . The alkali-activated materials (AAM) can be produced with a wide variety of starting materials rich in silicon and aluminum with short-range atomic ordering [6][7][8][9][10][11][12] . Theses amorphous or semi-crystalline compounds are solubilized in an alkaline environment and release monomers promoting the formation of a polymer chain by polycondensation reactions.…”
