Compatibility analysis of reactive dyes by exhaustion-fixation and adsorption isotherm on knitted cotton fabric

Abstract: Compatibility analysis was done by exhaustion, fixation and adsorption isotherm upon three reactive dyes; Remazol Red RR, Remazol Yellow RR and Remazol Blue RR. The known solutions of each dye were tested in UV-visible spectrophotometer and the extinction coefficients were calculated by drawing absorbance versus concentration curve. Dyeing processes were carried out in 4 different dye concentrations (0.5%, 1%, 2% and 3%) for each of the dye. The post dye and post wash liquors were tested in UV-visible spectrop… Show more

“…The chosen dyes are compatible and they have the same dyeing properties. The compatibility of these dyes was tested and proved through many criteria by performing the same steps described in the literature . For dyeing, bleached woven fabrics (100% cotton) were used and their colors were measured and evaluated.…”

“…Dyeing is the process of adsorption of dyes from a dye solution onto the surface of a fiber [26,27] followed by migration of the dye molecule into the fiber. Normally, the dyeing of wool is undertaken at close to the boiling point of water as this enables swelling of the fiber diameter and an opening of the cuticle structure.…”

“…Molekuli rektivnih boja imaju specifi čne funkcionalne grupe koje mehanizmom adicije ili supstitucije uspostavljaju kovalentnu vezu sa hidroksilnim grupama celuloze. Najvažniji parametri koji utiču na intenzitet obojenja pamuka reaktivnim bojama su koncentacija soli, koncentracija alkalija, zapremina i temperatura kupatila, vrsta reaktivne grupe i svojstva materijala za bojenje [2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. Uprkos velikoj popularnosti rektivnih boja postoje brojni ekološki izazovi zbog niskog nivoa iskorišćenja boja.…”
