Digital transformation has become constant and has forced governments to reevaluate the validity of their educational models; therefore, regarding digital and information literacy, to train teachers to improve new digital skills becomes essential. For these reasons, this research will explore the instruction of teachers in digital and information literacy in basic education; likewise, there will be an observation of the research’s theoretical-methodological characteristics related to these variables, and, also, we will carry out an analysis of the most pertinent contributions on the impact of new literacies and competencies in the teaching–learning processes in basic education, with the purpose of obtaining a current state overview of its teacher training within the framework of the technologies’ usage linked to teaching. This review was based on the guidelines of the PRISMA protocol, and to select 56 documents, the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases were used. The results show that, in the Scopus database, Spain is the country with the most research on the subject, with 29% of the total, followed by Indonesia, with 6%, and the United States, with 4%, and that the articles focus mainly on the social sciences and computer science. Likewise, in WoS, the country with the most research on the subject is Spain, with 30%, followed by Russia, with 10%, and Norway, with 8%, and the articles mainly revolve around the categories of education and communication. The research related to this topic uses a quantitative approach in 68%, a qualitative approach in 25% and a mixed approach in 7%. It was shown that there is a direct relationship between digital and information literacy and digital competency. In addition, it is also emphasized that digital and information literacy are continuous and long-term processes. More didactic proposals on digital skills would be necessary, over government policies and efforts, to achieve a community with a high level of digital and information literacy.

El presente estudio tuvo como objeto determinar las nuevas perspectivas de la educación por competencias en las universidades públicas. Se empleó una metodología de una revisión sistemática (RS) de literatura, de tipo básica, exploratoria, de carácter descriptivo, sobre publicaciones diversas de enfoque tanto cualitativo como cuantitativo, que resultan de la búsqueda minuciosa y procedimental en diversas bases de datos de calidad reconocida como Scopus, Google Académico y ERIC. Como resultados luego de la aplicación del flujograma Prisma y la verificación de los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se analizaron 16 documentos tanto en inglés como en español, publicados entre 2018 y 2023. Como conclusión se precisó que las nuevas perspectivas de la educación por competencias en las universidades públicas, están direccionadas hacia el uso de las herramientas digitales, la educación virtual, el manejo de las TIC y el retorno al fortalecimiento de habilidades matemáticas como la aritmética, el álgebra, la lógica, la investigación innovadora y colaborativa, y el pensamiento crítico. Igualmente, el nuevo docente deberá estar preparado en lo conceptual, procedimental, actitudinal y funcional, para afrontar estos y muchos otros retos emergentes, como consecuencia de la dinámica y cambiante situación, en las universidades públicas del mundo.

La educación superior se encuentra inmersa en una encrucijada de desafíos que trascienden fronteras y disciplinas. Este libro, titulado "Desafíos de la educación superior al 2030", se erige como un tratado esencial que expone las complejidades que configuran el futuro de estas instituciones académicas. De ese modo, cada capítulo de este compendio se sumerge en un aspecto clave que delineará el panorama educativo en la próxima década. El conjunto de contribuciones de cada autor converge para explorar la travesía más allá de las aulas, en función de la era digital y sus implicaciones para la educación superior. Desde Latinoamérica hasta escenarios globales, se analizan las perspectivas y retos de la internacionalización, junto con propuestas para optimizar la calidad educativa en consonancia con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible de la Agenda 2030. La gestión del conocimiento y recursos humanos en los servicios universitarios emerge como un pilar fundamental en la optimización de estas instituciones, al igual que la investigación como baluarte ineludible para el avance universitario en Latinoamérica. Con un enfoque propositivo, este compendio invita a reflexionar sobre la educación superior como motor de la innovación y el emprendimiento, así como sobre los desafíos sistémicos que la sostenibilidad y el éxito plantean. Estos temas, entre otros, se entrelazan para forjar una obra fundamental que no solo identifica los desafíos venideros, sino que también propone vías y estrategias para afrontarlos con resiliencia y visión de futuro. "Desafíos de la educación superior al 2030" se alza como un faro que convoca a investigadores a sumergirse en un diálogo reflexivo y constructivo. Se confía en que este compendio no solo alimentará el debate académico, sino que también nutrirá la acción necesaria para hacer frente a los retos cruciales que modelarán el porvenir de la educación superior.
