Complete CKM quark mixing via dimensional deconstruction

Abstract: It is shown that the deconstruction of [SU (2)×U (1)] N into [SU (2)×U (1)] is capable of providing all necessary ingredients to completely implement the complex CKM mixing of quark flavors. The hierarchical structure of quark masses originates from the difference in the deconstructed chiral zero-mode distributions in theory space, while the CP-violating phase comes from the genuinely complex vacuum expectation value of link fields. The mixing is constructed in a specific model to satisfy experimental bounds o… Show more

“…The upper range comes from the experimental bounds on the ρ and S parameters of SM, furthermore, a mass greater than the 600GeV will also contradict with partial wave unitarity [7]. As for mixing, we use the result of Ref [52]where it is obtained that |V t ′ d V t ′ b | ∼ 0.001 with phase about 10 • is consistent with the sin2φ 1 of the CKM and the B d mixing parameter ∆m B d [52].…”

“…Since the potential for the χ n and φ n is qualitatively similar to the potential V of the link fields in Eq. (10), a variation of this mechanism can also produce the right energy scale for χ n , when χ n and φ n take the rôles of the boundary and radial links, respectively. For this purpose, we suppose that the φ n have masses m φ around the TeV scale m φ ∼ 10 2 TeV, whereas the χ n have masses M χ of the order the Planck scale M χ ∼ M f .…”
