Complete genome analysis of Serratia marcescens RSC-14: A plant growth-promoting bacterium that alleviates cadmium stress in host plants

Abstract: Serratia marcescens RSC-14 is a Gram-negative bacterium that was previously isolated from the surface-sterilized roots of the Cd-hyperaccumulator Solanum nigrum. The strain stimulates plant growth and alleviates Cd stress in host plants. To investigate the genetic basis for these traits, the complete genome of RSC-14 was obtained by single-molecule real-time sequencing. The genome of S. marcescens RSC-14 comprised a 5.12-Mbp-long circular chromosome containing 4,593 predicted protein-coding genes, 22 rRNA gene… Show more

“…CP-13rif, such as phosphate-solubilization, IAA production and ACC-deaminase activity. Our conclusion is supported by a study where S. marcescens RSC-14 was reported to possess the genes involved in biosynthesis of IAA and phosphate solubilization (Khan et al 2017). Our Table 3 Effect of Serratia sp.…”

“…Furthermore, it is difficult to control mite infestation due to the lack of useful management techniques (Lindquist & Amrine 1996). Recent developments in molecular techniques have allowed the precise identification of very small organisms, including eriophyid mites among others (Khan et al 2017;Matsuda et al 2014;Navajas & Navia 2010;Ros & Breeuwer 2007;Shim et al 2016). However, molecular information on eriophyid mites infesting turfgrass is limited.…”
