Complete mitochondrial genome of smoothshell shrimp Parapenaeopsis tenella (Bate, 1888) (Crustacea: Decapoda: Penaeidae)

Abstract: In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of smoothshell shrimp Parapenaeopsis tenella was determined for the first time. The mitogenome of P. tenella is 15,893 bp in length and encodes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and a control region (CR). The overall base composition is 34.0%, 35.3%, 11.9%, and 18.9% for A, T, C, and G, respectively. All PCGs are initiated by ATN codons.
