Abstract:This paper investigates techniques of calibration of complex natural resonances (CNR) of dielectric targets embedded in inhomogeneous breast models used for early stage breast cancer detection. We apply two step procedure viz., calibration of CNRs in free space and half space dielectric medium, and compare with corresponding embedded conducting objects. We demonstrate that the CNRs related to the object's shape can be detected even in inhomogeneous lossy dielectric media.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
