Complex probiotics alleviate ampicillin-induced antibiotic-associated diarrhea in mice

Abstract: AimAntibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD) is a common side effect during antibiotic treatment, which can cause dysbacteriosis of the gut microbiota. Previous studies have shown beneficial effects in AAD treatment with Bifidobacterium lactis XLTG11, Lactobacillus casei Zhang, Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM8661, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus Probio-M9. However, no studies have been conducted on the immunomodulatory effects and protective intestinal barrier function of four complex probiotics. The aim of our study is t… Show more

“…Interestingly, the seasonal changes could affect the colonic expression levels of AQP3, AQP4, and AQP8 through cAMP/PKA pathway to affect the intestinal water metabolism, which resulted in seasonal differences in intestinal flora ( Li et al, 2023 ). However, mulberry ( Morus atropurpurea ) fruit had a protective effect against diphenoxylate-induced constipation through modulation of gut microbiota and decreased expression of AQP3, AQP4, AQP8, and AQP9 in the colon of mice ( Hu et al, 2019 ).…”
