The asymmetric COO -stretching frequency (m asym ) of the amino acid occurs at 1,580-1,660 cm -1 when the group is coordinated to metals [21], whereas the noncoordinated COO -group has m asym (COO -) at lower frequency [21]. The band at 1,629 cm -1 is therefore assigned to the m asym (COO -) of the metal-bound carboxylate group.…”
