Complexo agroindustrial de florestas plantadas de ribas do Rio Pardo, estado de Mato Grosso do Sul: caracterização e relações com o desenvolvimento local.

Abstract

This work identifies and characterizes the agents of the agroindustrial complex of pínus and eucalyptus forest plantations of Ribas do Rio Pardo city, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The city has been retaining an important position in forestry production, an activity that has been shaping its economic characteristics. We applied the methodology of the Program of Studies of the Agro-Industrial System Business (PENSA) and collected primary and secondary data through semi-structured interviews with twelve agents and four experts. The information amassed we thus gathered allowed us to elucidate the agents’ organization scheme and their relationship interactions. We demonstrate that because these agents lack both coordination and a sense of belonging, this complex has no evident connection with the local economy.
