Complications of appendicitis in a tertiary care centre

Abstract: Background: Acute appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency. An appendicectomy is considered the gold standard of treatment for acute appendicitis because of the potential risk of disease progression to perforation, gangrene and peritonitis.
