“…We further explored the possible involvement of EVER in wax biosynthesis in petunia flowers, having obtained the following pieces of evidence suggesting this link: (1) the homologs of EVER in Arabidopsis were shown to regulate the biosynthetic pathways of waxes; (2) our RNA-Seq data of EVER-knockout and overexpressing lines revealed enrichment of genes involved in wax-biosynthesis processes.
