Compound Elastic Scattering of Neutrons

Abstract: The complex potential model predicts a division of the average neutron elastic scattering cross section into shape and compound scattering. The normalized differential elastic cross sections calculated from this model are expanded in a series of Legendre polynomials and compared with data derived from experiments, demonstrating the presence of compound elastic scattering.
