Comprehensive Evaluation of Land Use Benefit in the Yellow River Basin from 1995 to 2018

Abstract: Land resources are the basis of human survival and development. Land use benefit is the embodiment of land input-output ability. As an important economic zone and ecological barrier in China, it is important to calculate the land productivity in the Yellow River Basin. Using the center of gravity model and other methods, this study evaluated the land use benefit of the Yellow River Basin from 1995 to 2018 based on the selected indicators of geographic grid-scale and analyzed the regional disparity. The results… Show more

“…EFZUYR is located in the north-eastern extension of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is the drainage divide between the Yellow River Basin and the Yangtze River Basin in China. Its unique geographical location and natural geographic characteristics have determined its fundamental ecological attributes, such as an ecological transition zone and a fragile zone, which is of great significance for maintaining social stability and ecological security [ 23 ]. The rapid socio-economic development and overuse of land have led to an increase in regional ecological risks.…”

“…The Yellow River Basin is the second largest basin and is also an important ecological barrier in China. It originates from Bayankala Mountain on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and flows into the Bohai Sea in Kenli County, Shandong Province, with a drainage area of 7.95 × 10 5 km 2 [40]. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east.…”

“…Currently, much research has been conducted on the “production-living-ecological” function. These studies are based on land functions, with the value of ecosystem services [ 1 , 2 , 3 ], landscape ecology [ 4 , 5 , 6 ], land use change [ 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 ], and balanced development of land use benefits [ 11 , 12 ] as concerns. With the expansion of the research content of “production-living-ecological space”, the research of “production-living-ecological space” has been enriched under different research scales, such as national, provincial, municipal, and township.…”
