“…We only registered 8 (1.4%) patients, similar to Goldman et al and Deutsch et al studies who reported this procedure in 2.0% and 1.6% patients, respectively (6,7). When comparing the Trifecta with the Perimount Magna and Perimount Magna Ease bioprostheses, Wendt et al observed a lower use of aortic root enlargement with Trifecta (9.1%, vs. 25.4% and 12.1%, respectively), which they hypothesized it could be due to (19).…”

“…In a recent study in 124 patients, Yadlapati et al compared the haemodynamic performance of the Trifecta valve with the Sorin Epic stented pericardial bioprosthesis immediately after AVR as assessed by intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography. The Trifecta valve revealed significantly lower mean pressure gradients (16.5 ± 6.7 vs 8.8 ± 3.4 mmHg, P < 0.001), lower peak gradients (33.3 ± 11.8 vs 19.4 ± 8.6 mmHg, P < 0.001) and higher EOAIs (0.8 ± 0.2 vs 1.1 ± 0.4 cm 2 /m 2 , P < 0.001) [15]. In another recent analysis conducted by Ugur et al, the early haemodynamic performance of three aortic pericardial tissue valves were compared in a total of 1436 patients undergoing AVR (Trifecta in n = 196, Mitroflow in n = 1135, Perimount Magna in n = 105 patients).…”

“…to the leaflets. The Trifecta valve has demonstrated good hemodynamic performance at rest, [2][3][4] during effort, 5 and at the 3-year follow-up. 6 This characteristic makes it very attractive, especially for patients with a small aortic annulus.…”
