Comprehensive Phytochemical Profiling, Biological Activities, and Molecular Docking Studies of Pleurospermum candollei: An Insight into Potential for Natural Products Development

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find the biological propensities of the vegetable plant Pleurospermum candollei by investigating its phytochemical profile and biological activities. Phytochemical analysis was done by spectroscopic methods to investigate the amount of total polyphenols, and biological evaluation was done by the different antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory (tyrosinase, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase), thrombolytic, and antibacterial activities. The highest amount of total phenolic and flavonoid conte… Show more

“…MS source and MS Quad temperature were set at 230 °C and 151 °C, respectively. The identification was made using a scanning ranging from 50 to 1000 m / z and metabolites were identified by a comparison of the mass spectrum of each separated metabolite on specific retention time with mass spectrum data stored in the NIST-14 library [ 81 ].…”

“…The α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition activity has been conducted in accordance with a previously reported modified method [ 81 ]. A mixture of a solution of enzyme 10 µL (1 U/mL), 50 µL of phosphate buffer (50 mM, pH 6.8) and 20 µL of the sample solution was added in 96 well microtiter plate and incubated for 15 min at room temperature.…”
