Abstract:Anion exchange membranes (AEMs) are increasingly used in fuel cell applications because of their ability to overcome the limitations of cationic exchange membranes. The goal of this review is to provide a thorough examination of how AEMs have advanced in fuel cell technology, as well as the issues they pose and identify areas for further improvement and address the constraints that prevent widespread commercialization of AEMs through an analysis of the current state-of-the art in AEM development.
