Compressibility Behaviour of some Copper (I) Perchlorate Complexes in Binary Mixtures of Acetonitrile with Nitromethane and Dimethylsulfoxide at 298.15 K

Abstract: Ultrasonic velocity (u) and density (ρ) of the binary mixtures of acetonitrile (AN) with nitromethane (NM) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) as well as of the solutions of Bu4NBPh4, Bu4NClO4, [Cu(CH3CN)4]ClO4, [Cu(Phen)2]ClO4, [Cu(DMPhen)2]ClO4 and [Cu((NH2)2CS)4]ClO4 have been measured over the entire composition range at 298.15 K. Using these data, isentropic compressibilities (K s) and apparent molal isentropic compressibilities (K s, ϕ … Show more

“…Ultrasonic velocity measurements have been discovered to be the most important method in the investigation of structure and molecular interactions occurring in solutions among these techniques. Ultrasonic wave propagation in a material has become a basic test for determining its properties 1 . Many researchers have demonstrated the critical and fundamental function of molecular specifics of the solvent species in determining particular interactions, which are responsible for macroscopic thermodynamic and other associated properties in non-electrolyte solutions 2,3 .…”

“…Physico-chemical measurements of electrolytic solutions of various electrolytes in aqueous, non-aqueous and mixed solvents have attracted attention in recent years [1][2][3][4]. The solvation studies particularly the preferential solvation [5][6][7][8][9][10] behaviour of ions has been of significant importance in electrorefining and hydrometallurgy.…”

“…Another useful property such as limiting apparent molal isentropic compressibility is an important parameter which not only provides the magnitude but also predicts the nature of the interactions on the basis of its values 1 . In the present work, ultrasonic velocity studies have been carried out on tetraalkylammonium salts in binary mixtures of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and methanol (MeOH).…”
