Compressive strength of tungsten mine waste- and metakaolin-based geopolymers

Abstract: Neuro-fuzzy approach has been successfully applied to a wide range of civil engineering problems so far. However, this is limited for geopolymeric specimens. In the present study, compressive strength of different types of geopolymers has been modeled by adaptive neuro-fuzzy interfacial systems (ANFIS). The model was constructed by 395 experimental data collected from the literature and divided into 80% and 20% for training and testing phases, respectively. Curing time, Ca(OH) 2 content, NaOH concentration, mo… Show more

“…Further investigation is required to evaluate both the fresh and hardened state performance of SCGC by using different supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) for potential use, as in the case of ordinary SCC. However, SCM and mineral fillers are commonly used to reduce costs, improve workability, and improve hardening properties [55]. However, many researchers [56,57] were performed that the slump flow of SCC mixtures was reduced with an increase in the content of MK in the mixture.…”

“…The sensitivity of AAB to the amount of available water (diluting effect) (Nazari et al, 2014) and the occurring liquid uptake by the wood wool strands requires fundamental understanding (Wang et al, 2016). The liquid uptake by lignocellulose has been studied but remains complex due to the inhomogeneous microporous structure (Fourmentin et al, 2016;Siau, 1984).…”

“…Likewise, the GPC represented by strong alumina-silicate (Al-SiO 2 ) polymeric structures results from the generation of alumina and silica by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or potassium hydroxides (KOH) and sodium silicates (Na 2 SiO 3 ) as an alkaline solution (Kolezynski et al, 2018;Mehta & Siddique, 2017). In addition, the existence of calcium (Ca) compound plays an important role since the calcium ions are able to act as a charge balancing cation in the geo-polymer binder (Davidovits, 1991;Nazari et al, 2014;Okoye et al, 2016). This enhances the overall strength of geo-polymer system as well as improves its microstructure by making it less permeable and more durable (Ankur & Rafat, 2017).…”
