Abstract:The macroscopic response of acoustic metamaterials with sub-wavelength asymmetry may be described by the so-called Willis constitutive relations, which include coupling between the acoustic pressure and momentum density. One method to describe the behavior of acoustically-small, Willis material building-blocks is via a polarizability matrix relating the monopole and dipole scattering moments to the local pressure and velocity fields, providing a metric for the design of microscale structures leading to macrosc… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
