Computed tomography in the investigation of bilateral mandibular coronoid hyperplasia

Abstract: Bilateral mandibular coronoid hyperplasia is characterized by restricted mouth opening due to impingement of the coronoid processes on the zygomatic arches. The condition is unfamiliar to many clinicians and may be significantly under-reported. The presented case highlights the benefits of computed tomography (CT) in the diagnosis and surgical evaluation of this disorder.
