Absfract-CTRL-Lab is a tool which assists the user in the implementation and experimental testing of control algorithms. The tool combines a floating point DSP with the widely-used CACSD software package MATLAB, enabling the interpreted and compiled mode implementation of a controller expressed as script file. CTRL-Lab consists of a collection of MEX-files implementing input-output and timing functions, and a translator that translates MATLAB script-files into C-code, which can be executed in the DSP. CTRL-Lab is used in our laboratory for teaching and research. Control experiments with two laboratory models demonstrate the features of the tool.
