Computer Interactive System for Diagnosis, Testing, and Rehabilitation of Visual Perception Disorders

Abstract: According to the data of A Christianson (1992 Acta Neurologica Scandinavica86 545 – 554) the testing of half of the visual field is useful when testing patients who suffer from visual perception disorders (VPDs). With this in mind, a new computer interactive system was developed for diagnosis, testing, and rehabilitation of VPDs. Our computer interactive system was composed of several subsystems: test procedure, test records database, and machine learning algorithm. The interactive test procedure was controlle… Show more

“…Researchers have developed several intelligent approaches for medical diagnosis systems in an attempt to identify disease category, reduce waiting time of patients, reduce health care service costs and increase service rate of medical experts. As seen in most studies (Bourlas et al, 1999;Alexopoulos et al, 1999;Ruseckaite, 1999;Manickam and Abidi, 1999;Zelic et al, 1999), intelligent approaches developed to assist experts in timely detection and prevention of diseases can only deal with one disease condition. Hence, it is important to develop a multi-target disease diagnosis system for the identification of two or more disease conditions in patients.…”

“…Many intelligent system have been developed for the purpose of enhancing health-care and provide a better health care facilities, reduce cost and etc. As express by many studies [28][29][30][31][32][33], intelligent system was developed to assist users and provide early diagnosis and prediction to prevent serious illness. Even though the system is equipped with "human" knowledge, the system will never replace human expertise as human are required to frequently monitor and update the system' s knowledge.…”
