COMSOL Simulations of the Main Properties of the Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators for Bio-Sensing Applications

Abstract: We use COMSOL Multiphysics software to model optical processes in media and the effects of light propagation in whispering gallery mode resonators (WGMRs). Although plane wave irradiating on resonator does not create resonances, it was shown that they can be obtained when focused tangentially on the perimeter of the resonator.
