Concentrações séricas de uréia, creatinina, sódio, potássio e cálcio em eqüinos das raças Pantaneira e Árabe submetidos a esforço físico de longa duração no estado de Mato Grosso (cavalgada) Brasil

Concentrações AbstractThe alterations in the serum concentrations of urea, creatinin, sodium, potassium and calcium of the Pantaneira and Arabian equine were studied during two days of cavalcade in Chapada dos Guimarães, Mato Grosso -Brazil. Twelve equine were divided in two groups according to the breed characterization -Group I: six animals of the Pantaneira race and Group II: six animals of the Arabian race. Blood samples for evaluation the serum parameters were collected in four different times: (T1) minutes before the beginning of the cavalcade, (T2) immediately in the end of the cavalcade in the first day , (T3) minutes before the cavalcade in the second day, and (T4) immediately in the end of the cavalcade in the second day. Significants alterations (P<0.05) were verified in all the analysed contituents, but they occurred in diferent collect times for each constituent. In the analysis of the values before cavalcade (T1) and after cavalcade (T4) the calcium and potassium were unaffected (P>0.05), the sodium decreased, the urea and the creatinin increased (P<0.05) during the period. These results were observed in a similar way in the two races studied.
