“…The importance of understanding the beliefs underlying reading and writing practices in higher education is related to their mediating role in the production of academic and scientific discourses. We could help students generate better strategies for critically deploying reading and writing practices in their disciplinary fields if we understand how these beliefs -often implicit, even for the actors themselves-are constructed and distinguish which aspects influence this construction process (Franco, 2021).
