Concept of all on four for dental implants: A review

Abstract: The clinical success rate of dental implants largely controlled by mechanical setting in which they work as an independent entity. The number of implants, design of implants and position of implants depends upon the systemic condition of the patient, availability of bone, type of bone and lastly on the treatment plan, decided by the dentist. In cases that have poor quality of bone or less amount of bone available, in these cases strain to the alveolar bone residual can be decreased by increasing the antero pos… Show more

“…Regarding all-on-four treatment concept, the distal implants were placed with angulation in order to achieve many beneficial goals such as avoiding the interference with the vital structures such as mental foramen or maxillary sinus, allowing the operator to use longer implant with more anchorage with bone and shortening the length of the cantilever arm of the framework 1,17 .…”

“…This tilting resulted in avoiding interference with vital structures with decreasing the cantilever length of the attached prosthesis. In addition to allowing, use of longer dental implants with increasing the bond-implant contact that increase implant stability 1,2 .…”

“…It provides results that can be compared and describes the test method, including test instrument characteristics, geometry, sample holder, load application, test environment, load frequency, wave shape, and procedural characteristics [10]. The ISO 14801 standard uses the "All on four" technique, where two implants are placed vertically on the anterior region and two on the non-edentulous region, with an inclination angle of 30° to 45° degrees [25]. This example of a healing abutment, whose surface components often vary in various oral cavity conditions, serves as the basis for this study.…”

“…Nessa técnica dois implantes colocados verticalmente na região anterior e dois implantes colocados na região edêntula posterior até um ângulo de 45 graus (sendo que a parte cervical destes implantes ficavam inclinados para posterior, tangenciando a parede anterior dos seios maxilares). (SINGH, R. et al, 2020).…”
