Concepts of green port operations – one kind of self-diagnosis method to the port of Santos - Brazil

Abstract: This paper aims to evaluate the sustainable performance within the concept of Green Port in the logistics operations. “…Santos and Hilsdorf (2019) studied the impact of the truck appointment and what process, integrated with an electronic communication system can contribute to more sustainable operations (Hartman & Clott, 2012;Daamen & Vries, 2013). This system directly affects the port, as well as its surroundings (Aregall et al, 2018) or the cities close to it, avoiding the congestion of trucks on the roads and surroundings and contributing to the environment (Hou & Geerlings, 2016;Jia et al, 2017;Kuznetsov et al, 2015;Moura & Andrade, 2018).…”

“…Possible differences (including problems) arise mainly from geographical location, technological development, and degree of industrialization [10]. Therefore, to realize the "green port", scholars have provided advice and a theoretical basis in the fields of operation, policy, marketing, and other related areas [11][12][13]. In reality, numerous ports have embarked on greening efforts, using solar power as an alternative energy source [14].…”
