wilson is a Python library for matching and running Wilson coefficients of higher-dimensional operators beyond the Standard Model. Provided with the numerical values of the Wilson coefficients at a high new physics scale, it automatically performs the renormalization group evolution within the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT), matching onto the weak effective theory (WET) at the electroweak scale, and QCD/QED renormalization group evolution below the electroweak scale down to hadronic scales relevant for low-energy precision tests. The matching and running encompasses the complete set of dimension-six operators in both SMEFT and WET. The program builds on the Wilson coefficient exchange format (WCxf) and can thus be easily combined with a number of existing public codes.a

We present a comprehensive analysis of low-energy signals of hypothetical scalar leptoquark interactions in lepton and kaon transitions. We derive the most general effective four-fermion Lagrangian induced by tree-level scalar leptoquark exchange and identify the Wilson coefficients predicted by the five possible types of scalar leptoquarks. The current constraints on the leptoquark Yukawa couplings arising from lepton and kaon processes are worked out, including also loop-induced transitions with only leptons (or quarks) as external states. In the presence of scalar leptoquark interactions, we also derive the differential distributions for flavour-changing neutral-current transitions in semileptonic kaon modes, including all known effects within the Standard Model. Their interference with the new physics contributions could play a significant role in future improvements of those constraints that are currently hampered by poorly-determined non-perturbative parameters. *

We compute the one-loop matching between the Standard Model Effective Field Theory and the low-energy effective field theory below the electroweak scale, where the heavy gauge bosons, the Higgs particle, and the top quark are integrated out. The complete set of matching equations is derived including effects up to dimension six in the power counting of both theories. We present the results for general flavor structures and include both the CP -even and CP -odd sectors. The matching equations express the masses, gauge couplings, as well as the coefficients of dipole, three-gluon, and four-fermion operators in the low-energy theory in terms of the parameters of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory. Using momentum insertion, we also obtain the matching for the CP -violating theta angles. Our results provide an ingredient for a model-independent analysis of constraints on physics beyond the Standard Model. They can be used for fixed-order calculations at one-loop accuracy and represent a first step towards a systematic next-to-leading-log analysis.
